Job Summary

Highly responsible work of a supervisory and monitoring nature in caseflow management.  These officers are responsible for ensuring sound caseflow management by ensuring the system perspective and system support.  They ensure quality control by auditing all court offices, units and flows for adherence to rules, procedures and practices.

The FCD Court Systems and Compliance Auditor may be assigned to work at any FCD locations.

Reports to FCD Senior Court Systems Compliance Auditor
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contributes to and implements an audit reporting system for Caseflow management procedures embodied in new Family and Children Court Rules and Civil Procedure Rules and Docket Management Rules and all court policies, procedures, practices and performance standards.
  • Reviews entries in the Case Management Information Software (CMIS), in other applications used in the Court and in all manual systems.
  • Reviews non-compliance issues and recommends remedial action plans to the FCD Senior Court Systems and Compliance Auditor.
  • Prepares audit reports for the attention of the FCD Senior Court Systems and Compliance Auditor and FCD Deputy DEA.
  • Makes recommendations for ensuring greater compliance with policies, rules, procedures and performance standards.
  • Contributes to the designs in collaboration with the Court Statistician any data collection tools, reports and strategies to audit compliance with the performance standards, for the approval of the FCD Senior Court Systems and Compliance Auditor.
  • Ensures quality control.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on work plans of private Consultants recruited by the Judiciary to undertake studies.
  • Recommends training needs.
  • Serves on technical committees as directed.
  • Performs related work as may be required.
Knowledge
  • Considerable knowledge of the systems and process planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of the Court system will be a very strong asset.
  • Considerable knowledge of court processes.
  • Knowledge of quality control methods.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to direct and supervise the work of a group of professional, technical and non-technical staff engaged in work in a Court Office.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, judges, magistrates, administrative professionals and members of various monitoring committees.
  • Very strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Experience and Training
  • Considerable experience in process mapping, planning and systems planning.;
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in law, management, planning, mathematics, science or social sciences.
  • Project management training or certification will be an asset.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
