| Job Summary |
The Court Library Manager is a professional librarian responsible for the organization, management, supervision and direction of staff and activities of the Access Services Division. The Division’s operations include circulation, interlibrary loan, document delivery, the provision of traditional and electronic information resources, collection control and security, databases maintenance, information literacy and instruction programmes and development and maintenance of the Unit’s space [through internet and intranet.]
This manager works closely with the Director and other professional team members to ensure coordinated, responsible and effectively legal library services.

| Duties and Responsibilities |
- Leads, direct, develops, manages and evaluates the operations of the Court Library Services Unit’s Access Services Division at all the libraries of the unit.
- Develops traditional and online library services that facilitate education and research, providing an effective and efficient legal reference service throughout the Unit.
- As a member of the Unit’s Information System Team, develops, implements and evaluates policies and procedures for system administration of MINISIS and other software applications utilized by the Library Unit.
- Responsible for the Judgement databases (TTCASE). Indexes and abstracts the decisions of the courts in Trinidad and Tobago. Maintains the in-house thesaurus for this database. Co-ordinates the receipt of electronic copies of decisions for the uploading to Library’s online catalogue.
- Administers and support the Unit’s virtual spaces. Develops, improves and maintains all aspect of the Unit’s web-site and Unit’s intranet presence. Serves as the web co- coordinator for the Unit.
- Responsible for the organization, implementation, coordination, expansion promotion, management and evaluation of the Unit’s information literacy programme.
- Develops and maintains Divisional manuals; ensures that Authority File documents are always current.
- Co-ordinates and prepares budget requests for services and equipment for the Unit and advises the Director on budget allocations and contractual arrangements.
- Forms part of the Unit’s Disaster Preparedness Recovery Team.

| Knowledge |
- Considerable knowledge about the Judiciary, its mission, goals and objectives as well as its strategic objectives.
- Considerable knowledge of legal research tools, legal research databases and familiarity with electronic resources.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of court administration and court performance standards and court systems.
- Familiarity with integrated library systems [knowledge and ability to use the MINISIS integrated package is an asset].

| Minimum Experience and Training |
- Extensive experience and training in the field of Library Science evidenced by a Masters’ Degree (M.L.S) OR an Undergraduate Degree in Library Science (from an accredited institution), with at least eight (8) years post qualification experience.
- The candidate should also have at least five (5) years senior management level experience.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
