| Job Summary |
The Judiciary Court Security Unit falls under the Department of Court Administration. The Court Security Officer is responsible for the overall day-to-day supervision of the security operations at Court locations and is required to work with and keep the Court Manager or Assistant Court Manager informed of security issues. The Court Manager/Assistant Court Manager as part of the management team of the district, keeps the rest of the team informed (including the Senior Magistrate, Magistracy Registrar and District Clerk of the Peace).

| Duties and Responsibilities |
- Reports to the Court Manager or Assistant Court Manager on location.
- Directs the day-to-day supervision and administration of security matters in his jurisdiction.
- Maintains operational security standards in his court location.
- Conducts investigations when necessary.
- Briefs and advises the Divisional Court Administrator/District Criminal Court Administrator and Court Manager/Assistant Court Manager on all security matters.
- Keeps Court Manager/Assistant Court Manager and Central Command Centre (HOJ) regularly informed as to the security status of his jurisdiction and to report in a timely manner any incidents such as bomb threats and security breaches.
- Provides reports as requested by the Court Manager/Assistant Court Manager.
- Performs Jury Sequestration duties when necessary.
- Liaises with district emergency and support agencies i.e. Police, Fire, Health and EHS Services.
- Monitors the deportment, appearance and general conduct of personnel under his charge.
- Completes daily inspection report.
- Conducts security awareness programmes for court staff.
- Directs emergency evacuation activities.
- Prepares and maintains duty and vacation rosters.rovides personal protection of judicial officers when necessary.
- Ensures record keeping systems including station diaries, pocket diaries and occurrence registers are accurately maintained.
- Makes impromptu visits to MTS officers [or other service providers] in his jurisdiction after hours.
- Liaises with Senior Court Officials.
- Performs related duties as may be required.

- Good understanding of Judiciary Protocol and Court Operations.
- A thorough understanding of investigative processes.
- Knowledge of the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago and regulations as they relate to the provision of security services and security administration.

| Minimum Experience and Training |
- A minimum of five (5) years in a senior position in the protective services or a recognised security
- A certificate in a security related course of study from a recognised tertiary education institution.
- Certified Security Supervisor (CSS) designation would be an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) CXC passes including Mathematics and English.
- Any relevant combination of experience and training.
